March 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Bordentown, NJ - Prince, global leader in premium performance tennis equipment, is proud to officially announce its sponsorship of the prestigious Easter Bowl junior tennis tournament - taking place in Rancho Mirage, California April 11-18, 2010.

For 43 years, the Easter Bowl has been one of the most recognized and celebrated names and tournaments in American junior tennis, featuring the very best and brightest young tennis talent the United States has to offer.  It is the only National Championships where the top juniors in multiple age groups and gender divisions compete at the same venue at the same time.   The result is the gathering of America's future stars in what the tennis press has coined, the "Super Bowl of junior tennis".

The one-week tournament is designed to showcase talent and foster friendships among players and coaches through sportsmanship and elite competition.

“Grassroots and junior development have always played an important role in Prince's success and have been paramount in how we have grown the brand since our inception 40 years ago,” said Max Brownlee, VP of Promotions at Prince.  “From Andre Agassi to Michael Chang and Jennifer Capriati to today’s up-and-comers like Sam Querrey and John Isner, we have taken great pride in cultivating tomorrow’s stars – many of whom made a name for themselves at this very tournament.  The history of the Easter Bowl and our history in junior tennis makes this partnership very special.”

Prince has a long history of Easter Bowl champions including Querrey, who won the Boys 16's Championship in 2004 and the Boys 18’s Championship in 2005, Lisa Raymond who won the Girl’s 18’s in 1990 and Vince Spadea who won the Boys 14’s in 1988 and Jennifer Capriati who won the Girls 16's in 1988.

"We are extremely proud to have Prince as official sponsor starting this year.  Not only does the Prince brand stand for excellence in terms of quality performance equipment, but it stands for excellence when it comes to junior tennis support and development as well,” said Bryan Fineberg, Easter Bowl Tournament Chairman and Director.  “At the Easter Bowl, we are not only focused on maintaining the reputation of the tournament, but also building upon it.   And with Prince as our new partner in this effort, we feel extremely confident that we are positioned well for the future."
