Award-Winning Storyteller Bill Ratner Takes The Floor at the Porchlight Storytelling Series at Café de Leche in Los Angeles, March 25, 2010 at 8:00 pm

“It’s the boom-boom and the bang-bang of the U.S. Army mixed with student protests on a college campus,” announces raconteur Bill Ratner about his performance plans at the Porchlight Storytelling Series, Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Café de Leche, 5000 York Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90042 at 8:00 pm.   This month Ratner, together with a group of a half-dozen storytellers, intend to amuse, inspire, and entertain with true stories on the theme “Marching Orders”, 10-minutes at a time.

Ratner, aside from being a professional speaker, storyteller, and three-time The Moth Story Slam winner, is also one of America’s most recognized and versatile voices.  His soothing delivery, inimitable charm, wry wit, and humor created a huge following of fans who remember him as “Flint” in GI Joe, Family Guy, and Robot Chicken.  Currently, he is the voice of numerous movie trailers, TV networks, and affiliate stations around the U.S.  His short stories and essays are published in Pleiades Press, Cheng Kung Literary, Southern Anthology, Papier Mache, Nightblade, Spork, Marquee, and Coast Magazine, and he is the voice of Niteblade.com’s first-ever spoken word horror story which Ratner wrote himself.  He lives in Los Angeles, CA, and owns three bicycles in various states of disrepair.  More about Bill Ratner can be found at billratner.com.

The Porchlight Storytelling Series in Los Angeles, produced by Stephen Brophy, a television promotion expert, is a monthly event held in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles near Occidental College.  Porchlight features storytellers from all walks of life, including detectives, television producers, writers, cartoon voices, jazz pianists, and actors – all telling true stories on a wide range of themes.
