March 20, 2010 - PRLog -- In preparation for the birth of his first child, reclusive Australian entertainer, writer and political agitator, Paul de Havilland, is reported to have locked himself in away to "create".

After a long hiatus from painting, de Havilland is believed to be hard at it on a series of works reflecting his unique style. His previous works include the much celebrated ‘Hapy Berthday’ and ‘Water off a Dug’s Bec’.

Sources close to the artist have said he was struck by an urge to pick up the paint brush again after he walked into his child’s nursery one night last week.

“He was so frustrated by Google constantly losing it’s connection he began running around the apartment like a crazy man. When he got to the nursery, he slammed the door and barred it from the inside. He’s been in there ever since,” the insider revealed.

Worried family members awoke to the sweet smell of an oil palette drifting under the door. When asked what he was doing, de Havilland reportedly shouted, “The baby has to come into the world with something to look at.”

Whilst famously well read, it is unclear whether de Havilland is knowledgeable about the biological development of newborn children. A self-confessed devotee of the Australian’s work and Professor of Pediatric medicine, Dr. Steve Brown, explains. “The ability to distinguish between different colours is probably not very good until at least three months of age. Newborn infants love looking at the contrast of black-and-white, not all those bright coloured paintings of ducks and rain.”

Not known as a prolific producer of artwork, de Havilland’s latest pieces are tipped to be highly sought after. Art lovers looking to purchase of one of these guaranteed masterpieces will be disappointed. They will be for private display only in a gallery in his child’s nursery.
