The Ladies Rule in Biker Club
Local author dishes out a sizzling novel about female motorcycle clubs

Lithonia, GA (March 6, 2010)— Author Kenny Blue was struck with inspiration for his new book in the oddest of ways. While pumping gas at a QT on Panola Road, a group of female bikers pulled up wearing their club’s colors and parked in perfect formation, leaving the other customers in awe. What followed was a three-year journey of discovery and research into the world of female bikers, resulting in the fictional account of Alexis “Jazzy” Preston, a young woman who leaves her fiancée and her parents behind in the tiny community of Ninety Six, SC, and moves to Atlanta on a voyage of self-discovery. “What I learned about the world of bikers was fascinating,” Blue says, recalling his research. “I found that many of the common biker stereotypes weren’t true. There is a tremendous amount of camaraderie, and bikers come from all walks of life. And writing about female bikers was especially intriguing, because their social status has gone through a revolution of sorts over the last couple of decades, and it’s a theme I wanted to address in my novel.”

To make the characters in Biker Club come to life, Blue purposefully interweaved elements of their personal lives into the fabric of the storyline, and included some plot twists that will take readers on a literary rollercoaster ride. “I had to make my characters real,” he says. “I want readers to feel like they know each one of my characters, and maybe even learn some life lessons along the way.” As for Kenny Blue’s writing style, he points to writers such as Frank Yerby, Raymond Andrews, and Ernest Hemingway as his influences. “These writers were geniuses,” Blue said. “They were master storytellers who perfected their craft through excellent character development and colorful settings. My goal was to capture the fast-paced narration and grit of today’s popular street fiction and blend it with yesterday’s styles.” One thing is for sure. As a fusion of popular street fiction and classic literary writing, Biker Club will have readers talking well after they finish the last page.

Synopsis

Alexis “Jazzy” Preston is a small town girl with big city dreams. Leaving her fiancé and parents behind, she moves to Atlanta in hopes of starting over. After landing a job, a new love interest appears, courtesy of her cousin Carla. Jazzy is not interested in a rebound relationship, however, and focuses on adjusting to life in the city. After settling in with her roommate, she tries to discover her self-identity, only to have her past come back to haunt her. Finding herself at a crossroads, she joins her cousin’s biker club, only to learn that the nickname “Hotlanta” is more than a reputation—it’s a way of life. Will Jazzy’s new life be everything she expected? Or will she regret her decision to leave South Carolina forever? Readers are invited to take an exhilarating literary ride, as power, jealousy, and love collide in Biker Club, the breathtaking novel by Kenny Blue.
