Celebrity Hip-hop Moms of Grammy Award-winning artists' T-Pain, Lil’ Wayne and Ne--Yo to receive humanitarian award in music and television at the “Celebrating the Queens in our Communities” Gala on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia
EOTM Radio & Media and the Queens of Internet Radio, sponsors of the event, will kick off the award ceremony with a dinner and entertainment gala on Sunday, March 7, 2010, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m., at the Historic Highland Inn & Ballroom in Atlanta, GA. Gospel Artist J.E. Jones, along with other celebrity guests is scheduled to perform in honor of the women. Other women from around the United States will also be honored. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs to develop a supportive networking system for women entrepreneurs in America and abroad.
“These women we will honor have an above average entrepreneurial spirit, high ethics and community spirit, financial and management skill coupled with creativity and out of the box thinking,” says Program Director Carla Barnes. “The event is designed to ignite the fire and inspire a whole new generation of empowered women across the country. This collaborative effort makes possible a unique and informative award ceremony/conference to the future of women in Atlanta and beyond as we celebrate Women History’s month.”
“We are honored to receive the humanitarian award. We appreciate being acknowledged for our efforts towards making our corner of the world a little better. We believe that all of us have something to contribute to the betterment of our community. We chose to use education and empowerment as our vehicle towards that end, “ says Loraine Smith, mother of Grammy-award winning artist Ne-Yo and one of the co-hosts of Dinner Table Discussions receiving the award. “It is amazing and gratifying to be recognized by your peers for attempting to accomplish the same goals. Bringing families together is the first step in making our communities better. Let’s continue to strive for the goal of a richer more empowered community.”
