Canada Wireless subscribers grew by 6% in 2009

Feb. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- According to Dataxis intelligence’s last updates, Canada wireless subscribers reached over 22.9 million as 2009-end, up 6% on an annual basis and 1.5% quarterly. As a comparison in 2008-end wireless users connections stood at 21.7 million, up 8% from the 20 million mark registered a year earlier (for more details see table below)

In terms of net additions, there were nearly 1.3 million new subscribers in 2009 while the market added more than 1.6 million a year earlier.

By and large, wireless penetration is pursuing its steady evolution in the country rising from 61% in 2007 to 65% in 2008 and stood at 68% of the country’s population in 2009-end.
