10th Annual Bitter Cold Showdown rollerblading contest and industry trade show

Nation's largest stunt rollerblading event returns to Modern Skate Park
 
Feb. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- The 10th Annual Bitter Cold Showdown rollerblading contest and industry trade show will take place at Modern Skate Park in Royal Oak/Madison Heights, Michigan on February 26 & 27, 2010. All activities throughout the event are open to the public. There is a $15 admission for spectators on Saturday only.

Starting in 2001, the Bitter Cold Showdown has grown to become one of the largest gatherings for stunt rollerblading in the world. Other activities throughout the weekend include open skate sessions, video premieres and an industry trade show. At the trade show, attendees are able to interact with their favorite professionals and purchase skates, wheels, frames, clothing, media and accessories at special prices only available at this event.

Modern Skate Park operates an 80,000 sq. ft. world class indoor skate park facility (over 1 acre of ramps and rails) that was designed by George Leichtweis, Owner, and constructed by local contractors, with help from world class skate park builders Team Pain (they have designed and built ESPN’s X Game ramps for over 10 years).



SCHEDULE OF EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

Friday, February 26, 2010 (10 am – Noon) – Modern Skate Park will be holding a press event open to all print, broadcast and news media outlets. George Leichtweis (Owner, Modern Skate Park), Daniel Kinney (Founder, Bitter Cold Showdown) and a group of selected internationally renowned professionals (including some Detroit area locals) will be available for questions and interviews. There will be a photo and video opportunity as the professionals will perform a brief demonstration showcasing stunt rollerblading and the Modern Skate Park facility.

Friday, February 26, 2010 (Noon – 9:30 pm) - Modern Skate Park opens for regular business.

Friday, February 26, 2010 (10:30 pm – Midnight) – Open skate session for Rollerbladers only.

Saturday, February 27, 2010 (Noon – 4pm) - Rollerblading Industry Trade Show: Attendees are able to interact with their favorite professionals and also purchase skates, wheels, frames, clothing, media and accessories at special prices only available at this event. There is a $15 to enter the Trade Show and contest.

Saturday, February 27, 2010 (4pm – 10pm) - The Bitter Cold Showdown: The Bitter Cold Showdown will feature one of the largest gatherings for stunt rollerbladers in the world, including top professionals from Europe, South America and Asia. Other activities throughout the weekend include open skate sessions and free video premieres. There is a $15 to enter the Trade Show and contest.
