Feb. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Just For Kicks Martial Arts is committed to helping our children to become tomorrows leaders. Part of being a true leader is literacy. Just For Kicks a local karate school in Fishkill, NY has partnered with the principal and librarian of Glenham Elementary School to sponsor their 2010 reading literacy program called "Reading is for Kicks."

The program puts an emphasis on children reading to earn symbolic martial arts belt ranks.

Master Robert S. Blum owner of Just For Kicks states "I have always believed that anything we can do to encourage children to learn to read and grow as people is vitally important. This is why we do community programs like this one throughout the year."

Just For Kicks also sponsors the summer reading program at Blodget Public Library in Fishkill, NY.

When asked her thoughts on the program Ms. Gloria Rosati, the Glenham Librarian, stated the children are very excited to earn their "black bracelets"! Master Blum went the extra mile yesterday morning by having his team do a demonstration on the art of Tae Kwon Do at the school-wide assembly for the programs kick off. She also really liked how Master Blum was able to tie in the hard work and practice that the students in the demo team exhibited to earn their belt into the students' necessary hard work and practice in reading!
