PRLog -- Fazlur Chowdhury is a maritime adviser for the General Organization of Sea Ports, Bahrain, a group whose mission is to regulate, develop, and promote maritime and logistically zoned industries through the development and implementation of international standards. Fazlur has been in this position for nearly two years and is responsible for drafting maritime codes and procedures with the ultimate goal of fostering economic growth. At the same time, he protects the interest of stakeholders by ensuring effective and fair competition. Fazur received his Master of Science degree in maritime safety from the World Maritime University in Sweden and is certified as a master mariner, as designated by the Department of Transport of the United Kingdom. A seasoned world traveler, he serves as a visiting professor for the World Maritime University and as a field consultant for the International Maritime Organization. The highlight of his career is his involvement with projects that were based in Gibraltar and the United Kingdom respectively. Fazur contributes to charities in his community and Red Cross disaster relief programs. In his free time, he enjoys writing about various subjects and reading The Economist.
