By: Miss Brooklyn Scholarship Organization "After volunteering with the Miss Brooklyn Organization for the last two years, I am honored to take on a larger role in producing the Miss Brooklyn Scholarship Competition,” The Miss Brooklyn Scholarship Competition is an official preliminary to Miss America, one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Returning after a 16-year hiatus, Miss Brooklyn 2008 Leigh Taylor Smith earned the title of Miss New York and third runner at Miss America, earning over $22,000 in scholarships. The current Miss Brooklyn, Keelie Sheridan, is continuing the tradition of excellence placing 4th Runner Up at Miss New York. Entrants will be vying for scholarships and an opportunity to compete in the upcoming Miss New York America pageant.
