Jan. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan, House District 39, will serve as the keynote speaker for the Legislative Process Workshop on Saturday, January 9, 2010 immediately following the Georgia Black Chamber of Commerce’s (GBCC) 12th Annual Legislative Prayer Breakfast.  (The prayer breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the workshop will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.).  The event will take place in the Hyatt Regency Training Room of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hotel, 265 Peachtree Street.

The Legislative Process Workshop is an essential function for business owners who would like to learn how to: (1) effectively engage in the political and legislative process, (2) build relationships with decision makers and (3) how to earn contracts with state and local government.

“Representative Morgan is a very resourceful and diligent member of our legislature,” states Anna Henderson, President of the GBCC.  “The insight that she will provide will be of help to those who would like to know how to get in the process and make a difference.  The workshop will bring added value to the business community, and we encourage all business owners to come out and take advantage of this awesome opportunity.”

Held each year on the Saturday before the legislature begins, the prayer breakfast is the GBCC’s signature event.  It fosters the GBCC’s efforts to assist businesses in making the right connection for development, opportunity and sustainability.
