In 2000, Lauren became the youngest girl to compete at the All Girls Skate Jam. She took home 2nd place along with the attention of the head of Vans Pewee team. Lauren joined the team and by the age of 12, took 1st at the Gravity Games amateur contest, beating out 45 boys. 2002 proved to be a career breaking year for Lauren. She took an impressive 1st place win at the All Girls Skate Jam in her home town of Huntington Beach, CA. She competed against some of skateboarding top riders and her favorite pros.
