Nov. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- Green Street Development, the organization behind several of the nation’s first LEED and
NAHB certified residential remodels, has been designated as an official offsite
educational provider for Greenbuild 2009. Green Street is the only private organization to
feature three tour stops within the Greenbuild official tour schedule. The tours highlight
sustainable development in the State of Arizona.

The residence at 3313 East Medlock Avenue is the first LEED-certified remodel west of the
Mississippi, and only the second in the country. The four bedroom, two bath home
features energy-efficient doors and windows, passive solar daylighting, non-
formaldehyde bamboo flooring, Icynene foam insulation, low-E windows and an electric
car charging station.

Also featured on the tour are two of Green Street’s NAHB-certified remodels, 150 West
Elm Street and 1818 West Turney Avenue. The two residences are the first remodels in the
United States to receive the coveted NAHB Emerald certification.

In addition to being featured on the Greenbuild tour schedule, each of the three
residences will host one of Green Street’s popular green remodeling workshops. The
workshops, conducted by Green Street founder Philip Beere, cover a wide range of
educational topics, from design, cost analysis and materials selection to government
incentives and common remodeling mistakes.

“Greenbuild will welcome the Ambassadors of green building to the City of Phoenix, and
we look forward to sharing our green-certified remodels,” says Beere. “Every green
remodel we complete represents our mission of creating walkable neighborhoods and
promoting sustainable development. We hope this inspires other developers and builders
to consider a green rating system when remodeling or building new structures.”
