Rypos Continues Support of TRU Community as CARB Deadline Approaches

Nov. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- Torrance, Calif. -Rypos, Inc. continues to work with the refrigerated trucking industry and California Air Resources Board (CARB) to inform TRU owners and operators about the December 31st deadline and how to comply. In addition to sponsoring training for ARB inspectors and offering webinars to dealers and distributors, the company recently posted information at a significant amount of truck stops in California, Arizona, Nevada and Oregon.  Included in the information post is a toll free number, 24/7 call center to enable rapid response for truck owner/operator compliance.      

The new regulation requires all refrigerated trailers and bobtail units that operate in California and that are more than seven years old, to be modified or replaced to reduce particulate matter emissions. Depending on the model year of the reefer unit, the unit manufacturer and the model year of the engine, it is possible to modify a non-compliant refrigeration unit to meet the new regulation by adding a diesel particulate filter. The RYPOS DPF/LETRU and the Proventia FTF and Bobtail FTF, both exclusively distributed in North American by Rypos, enable TRU fleet owners to retrofit their fleets of Carrier and Thermo King TRUs.
