Oct. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- German designer, Karl Lagerfeld has recently been criticized for stating that objections to 'size-zero' models are driven by overweight women who do not like to be reminded of their own gross, weight issues, since "only fat, jealous, frumps object to thin models",
and the infamous French model and fashionista, Nancy Marie, completely agrees with him.

Nancy Marie, writes on her high profile fashion blog, [www.fabuleuxparis.com]
“Everyone already knows, I ADORE Karl Lagerfeld, of Chanel. I mean he is one of my absolute favorite people in the entire world. So when I heard he was publicly defending the [model’s] rights to be thin [and all women’s rights to be thin], I was so appreciative and grateful! Regardless of whether people agree with your opinions or not, HAVING HONEST OPINIONS IS ETERNALLY CHIC & being a conformist is eternally sucky! Karl [Lagerfeld} has a wonderful way of stating the truth. I am so happy he is defending us [super skinny models]. [Nancy Marie is a size zero model, by the way]. There has been enough model bashing over the years. I wish the haters would stop already! I realize that sometimes the truth hurts, but Karl is absolutely correct in his statements. Just like I am always telling [my readers] that if other women are not nice to you, they are just jealous, Karl is essentially saying the same thing. I am just so glad he has the nerve to say it in such a public manner, as I tend to be more shy and would not have actually said such in an interview. Kisses and kudos to Karl Lagerfeld! People, don't ever let yourself go in the hopes of conforming. Whatever your opinions are, I encourage everyone to be true to themselves, above all.”

Nancy Marie’s gratitude comes from Karl Lagerfeld's recent, brutally honest public statements in Focus magazine such as "It is only the FAT women sitting with their bags of potato chips in front of the television, saying that the thin models are hideous, since only the fat, jealous, frumps object to thin models",” The creative director of Chanel added that the world of fashion was all to do "with dreams and illusions, and no one wants to see round women".

Lagerfeld, who is known in the trade as a designer with a particular penchant for skinny models, adopted an almost emaciated look himself a few years ago, losing a lot of weight when he went on a strict diet. He confided his diet secrets in the 2004 book, ‘The Karl Lagerfeld Diet’ and has continued to share his diet tips over the years, stating: "I only like the things that I'm allowed to eat, so it's not like I have to avoid anything, which is how I don't put on weight."

Nancy Marie, ironically, is also the author of a book 'Style Beauty Trimness, Glam Pink Edition', which features a [very small] chapter on weight management done in a fun, girly, French manner where the reader is encouraged to eat everything they love while never gaining an ounce and actually losing weight. Initially, Marie’s book received a lukewarm reception due to the artsy form of pop-art-photography and brutal honesty regarding weight loss and self-confidence, but it quickly became a best seller after another style and diet maven, Victoria Beckham was seen with a copy.

Both books have become something of cult classics amongst the uber-fashionable.

Whatever Karl Lagerfeld, Nancy Marie and the other models are doing to stay so thin, it is working. We just wish they were not quite so brutal about it!
