29th – 31st January 2010

Spend a wonderful weekend introduction to yoga in an Edwardian Manor House

Prana Holidays announces a beginners yoga retreat based in Northumberland. This weekend will cover all of the basic aspects of integrating yoga into your life. Lessons will focus on simple yet powerful breathing techniques to calm the nervous system, meditation practises that will suit the requirements of the group and posture work for beginners. For a full weekend schedule see - http://www.pranaholidays.com/uk-yoga-spas/yoga-for-beginners/

After this weekend delegates will feel confident about attending yoga classes in their local area. They will also confidently introduce meditation & breathing practises to increase wellness in their own lives.

Based at a wonderful retreat in the Northumberland countryside, the whole weekend is dedicated to the beginner, with classes, demonstrations and talks.  The course is based in a beautiful Edwardian manor house in Allendale, Northumberland. It is renowned for great food and a relaxing atmosphere.

The style of yoga being taught is Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. For those who want to tone the body and relax the mind, Ashtanga yoga offers a series of sequential poses beginning with sun salutations. Students move from one posture to another in a continual flow and link movements to breathe. This type of yoga was developed by K. Pattabhi Jois to build strength, flexibility, and stamina.

The teacher for the weekend is Jambo Truong.  Jambo is a highly experienced teacher, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, who is also an Integrated Health Practitioner. Throughout the weekend, Jambo's classes will be targeted specifically towards those who are novice or inexperienced at yoga.

Prana Holidays’ Beginners Yoga Retreat (see http://www.pranaholidays.com/uk-yoga-spas/) runs from Friday 29th January to Sunday 31st January and costs from £245 per person based on sharing a twin room.
The price includes 2 night’s accommodation, all vegetarian meals with water, all lessons, talks and demonstrations, a yoga matt if required and free parking at Deneholme. Places are limited so early booking is required to guarantee a place.
