SGIS awarded a contract by the USASMDC/ ARSTRAT

SGIS, a national government contracting firm, announced the award of a Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contract by the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command / Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT).

Sept. 22, 2009 - PRLog -- SGIS, a national government contracting firm, announced today the award of a Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contract by the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command / Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT) in support of Space and Missile Defense Initiatives Support III (SMDIS III).  The total contract ceiling is $450 Million over a period of five years.

“This contract enhances our capabilities in the space and missile defense areas,” said SGIS CEO Hany Girgis. “We are honored to be a part of such important initiatives for the U.S. Army and are committed to improving space and missile defense efforts in the United States and abroad.”

Under this contract, SGIS will provide scientific, engineering and technical assistance support for Space, Missile Defense, Global Strike, Information Operations, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Homeland Security. The primary focus of the contract will be to support functional areas including, but not limited to vision statements and doctrine; development of architectures; and program support.  More specifically, SGIS will be providing services in areas such as planning; development; fielding documentation; modeling and simulation; system analysis and integration; integrated logistics support; development of strategy; support to the warfighter; contingency and mission support; program oversight; independent verification validation and test evaluation; prototype development; sustainment and operation, training; and analysis of emerging technologies.

This contract holds several potential areas of growth for SGIS. This includes services in areas such as infrastructure, organizational analysis and evaluations; intelligence requirements; systems engineering and systems integration analysis; simulation and modeling development; rapid prototyping and limited procurement; software and network development; and information systems support.  Other support services SGIS may provide in the future include general operations support, such as exercise planning and execution, training and Blue Force tracking mission support; homeland security support; space operations support; quick response support; meeting and conferences support; and staff support such as administrative services and planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE) support services.

SGIS will be supporting various organizations under this contract including USASMDC/ARSTRAT, United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Northern Command (NORTHCOM), Naval Network and Space Operations Command (NNSOC), Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), Ground Based Mid-Course Missile Defense (GMD) and the Joint National Integration Center (JNIC).
