Once Again: A Global Food Shortage

Dr. Daniel J. Gustafson, the Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, will speak on the topic "Once Again: A Global Food Shortage."

Sept. 21, 2009 - PRLog -- Daniel J. Gustafson, Director, Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, has worked for the past 30 years on agricultural and rural development in Latin America, Africa and Asia as well as the U.S.  He will speak to the Ambassadors’ Roundtable on Wednesday, October 14 at the Stamford Yacht Club.

Dr. Gustafson began his career in Brazil with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture.  This was followed by work at the University of Maryland as Program Director, International Development Management Center.  Since joining the FAO, he has worked in Mozambique, Kenya and India, before returning to the U.S. in 2007.

The public are invited to attend the event at the Stamford Yacht Club, 97 Ocean Drive, Stamford. The cost of the breakfast is $50 for the public and space is limited.  It is free to Ambassadors’ Roundtable members. The breakfast meeting starts with coffee and networking at 7:15 A.M. followed by a full buffet breakfast at 7:30 A.M.  Dr. Gustafson will speak at 8 A.M. and will take questions.
