Sept. 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Imagine that you're on stage in front of an audience of hundreds of people, doing a five-minute presentation using slides that automatically rotate every 15 seconds, whether you're ready or not. What would you do? What would you say? Could you stand the pressure? If you think that you could, Ignite is for you.

Following the overwhelming success of the previous Ignite Cardiff events, Cardiff Design Festival thought that the night would make a great addition to their month of festivities in October, and Ignite Cardiff Organisers, Neil Cocker of Nocci and Claire Scantlebury of Cardiff Web Scene were more than happy to help out.

'Ignite is such an exciting event, Claire and I really love running them' explains Neil Cocker, founder of nocci, 'Because the speakers can talk about absolutely anything we find that the events appeal to really wide audience, and to be able to hold the third Ignite Cardiff in the Wales Millennium Centre is absoutely fantastic'.

'We think that the Cardiff Design Festival is a brilliant opportunity for those involved in the creative industries in Cardiff to showcase and celebrate their work, we were really thrilled when they asked us if we'd like to be involved' said Claire Scantlebury, co-founder of Cardiff Web Scene, 'it's a bit of a shame that there's nothing similar in Cardiff yet for those involved in the web industry, and that's something that myself and the sponsors of Ignite Cardiff 3, Box UK, are quite passionate about.  I'm hoping that in the next couple of years we'll also have something to celebrate with Cardiff's fantastic interactive talent'.

Founded in Seattle in 2006, thousands of Ignite events have been held all over the world, but Cardiff held the first Ignite event in the UK.  Talks at previous events have ranged from 'The Philosophy of Wine' and 'How to Make the Perfect Paper Airplane' to 'How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse' and even 'Infinity', videos of these talks (and others) can be found on YouTube as well as at www.cardifffwebscene.com.

The third Ignite Cardiff is being held at the Wales Millennium Centre at 6:30pm on Thursday 15 October 2009 as part of the Cardiff Design Festival, sponsored by web development company Box UK entry is absolutely free and you don't need a ticket to attend.
