Womens Club SWANS Netplay Event with Diane Darling

Sept. 2, 2009 - PRLog -- Womens Club SWANS is hosting an event on Sept 17th that is open to all women who wish to enjoy a night of inspiration and fun with other women in the area.  Diane Darling, a well known networking expert, author and speaker, will be presenting at this event. She has appeared on NBC Nightly News, in The Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, and The Boston Globe and is a member of the CEO Club. Darling is also a columnist for the Boston Business Journal and has taught in the MBA program at Boston University.  However, all of these accomplishments do not preclude Diane from difficulties in her life.  In her presentation to WCSWANS, this successful business woman Diane will share her more personal story of overcoming hardships which led to her receiving the Rising Star Award from Center for Women and Enterprise.  

Maureen Umehara, Director of Women’s Club SWANS, states, “We are incredibly excited to have Diane Darling presenting at our event.  We often look for speakers whose presentations are either inspiring or educational.  Diane’s story is both.  Many people would agree she is a well known and an exceptional speaker on the topic of networking.  In this presentation she gets more personal and enables others to learn from her own struggles. Her topic “Embracing Change in Challenging Times” is such an important attitude to have and share in the current economy.”  

WCSWANS is both a social club and networking group for women in and around RI. Maureen Umehara indicates that "While networking is often only associated with business, women often network about other things than business as well.  What makes this club unique is that it is open to women of a variety of ages and backgrounds to "network" about whatever interests them or even to just to enjoy socializing. So women do not have to own a business to attend or be a member. Those women who have businesses have opportunities to promote them.”

On September 17th, women will meet at McGovern’s on the Water in Fall River from 6pm to 9pm to enjoy dinner, Diane Darlings inspiring presentation, and have opportunities to connect with other women in the area.  Admission is $20.00 members/$30 non-members which includes crackers cheese and fruit, soup, dinner and dessert (additional fee may apply).  Pre-registration is required.
