By: Elant, Inc. Known as the NYAHSA Traveling Art Exhibit, the show will be presented at Elant at Goshen from Sept. 8 through Sept. 23 (9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily). A reception (free and open to the public) will be hosted to welcome the show on Sept. 17 at 2:30 p.m. The community is invited to tour the exhibition at Elant at Goshen, which is located at 46 Harriman Drive, Goshen, NY. The exhibition consists of art selected from entries submitted to the 19th Annual NYAHSA art competition. This year there were more than 200 entries submitted; of those, 70 pieces were selected to travel throughout New York State. Betty Jane Swezey, a registrant of Elant at Goshen’s Adult Daybreak Program, submitted a contemporary watercolor titled, “One Love,” that was selected for the exhibit. Swezey, a Hunter College graduate, has exhibited her work in various art shows throughout the Hudson Valley, and has several of her works on display in the Elant at Goshen Adult Day Health Care Unit. Works submitted to the NYAHSA competition by two Elant at Goshen residents – Thomas Murray and Margaret Cascino – were chosen to be on display at the NYAHSA offices in Albany, N.Y. “We are so proud to have been selected to host this extraordinary exhibit at our Goshen campus,” said Elant, Inc. President and CEO Donna G. McAleer. “And to have work created by one of our own artists included in the display is very exciting.” The New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and its affiliate NYAHSA Services, Inc. jointly sponsor the project.
