20ft Shipping Container Apartment, Just Finished!

in Costa Rica has just completed it’s newest product, a 20ft shipping container home. With just a space of  20ft long by 8ft wide and high this new tiny steel apartment has all you would need for that second home.

Our standard ISO shipping containers are  first shipped  from Amsterdam to Limon, Costa Rica. Then we trucked it up to our Costa Rican Shipping container factor http://www.containerhomes.net/ located in San Ramon. Once we get the containers off the truck and drag them onto the job site, we then cut the holes, sand down the rust spots, pound out the dents and put a coat or two of primer.

Next, we sit down and examine the way to construct a highly secure steel homeand comfortable home, that looks cool. We wanted to keep the outside the same in order to not attract any attention. The crime rate is very high in Costa Rica, especially with homes that are not occupied 24/7. This mere concept has driven our company to create a home that is both very comfortable and yet very secure.

Many of our past projects have led us to this place. Meaning, building a secure home that can be left alone for a few months with no worries. The shipping container home building process of these homes requires a lot of patience and time. We want to create a home that looks more like a home than a tin can. However, we like the idea that it looks like a tin can when your not around. This is why we decided to go with the solid steel door for the shipping container home. The door that opens on a switch and out comes your house. Embedded in glass and beautiful wood.
