In a project jointly written with Terry Devine King, Nick has produced some huge symphonic works with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and choir combined with filmic percussion and production. The series also features a wide variety of cutting edge electronica, indie rock, chill out and a range of other genres. Audio Network is delighted to welcome Nik Kershaw as one of its composers. Nik, best known for his success as a songwriter and performer in the 1980s has ‘crossed over’ with a series of orchestral/pop works. Kershaw said, “I’ve been so impressed with the quality and range of music available on the Audio Network library, I was quite inspired to write this music. It was a great experience and I hope to do more!” Gerard Presencer is widely considered to be one of the finest trumpet players in the world. Gerard joins the team co-writing with Jim Watson, well known for his work with Incognito, Kate Melua, Zero7, The Brand New Heavies and a wealth of other artists. Nik Kershaw Biography. Nik Kershaw needs no introduction to pop fans from the 1980’s and 90’s. He reached millions with his debut single, “I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down on Me” which reached no.2 in the charts. The album went on to reach platinum in many territories worldwide. At the beginning of 1984, he released “Wouldn’t It Be Good”, which reached no. 4 in the charts. His second album, “The Riddle” went platinum and in July 1985, Kershaw performed solo at Live Aid. His songwriting talents were recognised by a variety of other artists and has led to collaborations with Elton John, Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, Lulu, Ronan Keating, Jason Donovan and Gary Barlow and many others. In 1991, his song “The One and Only” appeared in the US film, Doc Hollywood and it gave Chesney Hawkes, the star of the British film, Buddy’s Song a resounding number 1. Gerard Presenger Biography. Gerard Presencer was born in London in 1972 and has become widely respected as one of the finest trumpet players in the World. Having established himself as a studio musician and session player he has since received critical acclaim for his 3 solo albums. His playing credits cross musical genres and he has recorded with many leading artists including Sting, Robbie Williams, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell and Chick Corea. He has also played on and arranged strings and brass for a variety of performers including Charlie Watts, Incognito, Zero 7 and Will Young. In addition to all this, he has remained Head of Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music in London since 1999 and is also the Head of Brass at the Jazz Institute Berlin. Gerard first worked with Audio Network with Tim Garland in 2002 and has more recently started composing for the company. Gerard has won the trumpet category of the British Jazz Awards 4 times. Nick Ingman Biography Nick Ingman’s CV reads like a who’s who in the Music Business. Having studied in Boston USA and working with all the greats at the BBC, he worked extensively throughout the Britpop phenomena. Nick scored for all the major acts of the day, including Oasis, Blur, Suede, Manic Street Preachers, Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, and Menswear. Other acts that were on Nick’s credits list were the Lighthouse Family, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Gabrielle, and Sinead O’Connor. Also during this time, Nick’s work as a film orchestrator and conductor began to increase. His association with composer Stephen Warbeck, produced a number of highly acclaimed films such as “Mrs Brown”, “Shakespeare in Love”, “Billy Elliot” and “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” At the end of the ‘90’s, Nick’s work included a tour of the USA with Eric Clapton and a string section playing Nick’s arrangements for the album “Pilgrim”, a six week sell out series of concerts at the Albert hall with Cliff Richard and the Royal Philharmonic. In 1997,Nick arranged and conducted a concert in New York, with Portishead and the New York Philharmonic. During this time, Nick became a frequent guest conductor with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and The Philharmonia, involved in a number of cross over projects such as Russell Watson’s 5 million selling debut album. Nick’s work on the pop side continued with hits for Eric Clapton, Dido (at last count, her last album had topped the twenty million mark) Morcheeba, Radiohead (“O.K. Computer”), Madonna, Robbie Williams and Elton John. He was also involved in the Pop Idol phenomenon, starting his association with Will Young in particular, with whom he went on to have many hits. His work as an arranger of pop records has culminated in 13 No. 1 records and five double platinum records in the UK alone.
