Battling brides head to the Zoo

The Living TV show is the ultimate battle of the brides. Each week four competitive couples go head to head to prove their special day is the best.

Each bride invites three rival brides to scrutinise their nuptials, all in a bid to win every newly wed’s dream prize - a luxury honeymoon.

This week’s brides covered the full spectrum from the most down to earth to the most extravagant.

First up was party girl Amanda, whose wedding day is a good old northern booze up. Rather than get excited about her flowers or veil, this wild child bride is looking forward to sharing a few vodka shots with her mates.

Meanwhile, animal lover Tracey decided to hold her big day at ZSL London Zoo where guests were met by a llama and enjoyed a planned animal tour.

Caroline and Sofi’s weddings couldn’t be more different - from a simple registry office do to a crazy party with the biggest dress the bride could find!

The Prince Albert Suite, Raffles Suite and Mappin Pavilion all provide the perfect backdrop for a private party. Each room is available with outdoor space at which to welcome your guests with drinks and enjoy unique photo opportunities.

Weddings
ZSL London Zoo holds a civil ceremony license for the Mappin Pavilion (up to 80 guests) and the Prince Albert Suite (100 to 210 guests) allowing you to tie the knot surrounded by over 5,000 animals.

Their dedicated team will help you plan and organise every detail for your special day. Advice can be given on florists and entertainment, making the most of your day in our beautiful grounds and meeting some of our special animals.

Family Fun Days
Why not create your own special day for your employees and all of the family? Hiring one of their function suites provides the perfect base for your day.

They can help you arrange activities such as face painting and children’s entertainers. The outdoor lawn is perfect for a bouncy castle for the children, whilst the adults relax.

An activity trail can be arranged in the Zoo grounds allowing you to take in some of our 5,000 animals. Why not visit Animals in Action and the Predatory Birds Display or follow the Daily Programme of events.

On return to the function suites you can enjoy a barbecue or buffet. For those who want to party the evening away there is plenty of space for a disco.

Civil Partnerships
ZSL London Zoo offers the ultimate location for a Civil Partnership that is as wild or tame as you are. The Mappin Pavilion is a stunning Grade II listed building, located next to the Bear Mountain, offers a unique backdrop at which to say ‘I do’. Follow the Ceremony with Drinks and Canapes at the Komodo Dragon House, before returning to the Mappin Pavilion for a Fork Buffet, Barbecue or Seated Dinner.

Dancing is available until Midnight. Capacities for up to 80 guests seated or 150 with occasional seating. Other locations are available.’

Asian Weddings
ZSL London Soo are also able to accommodate Asian wedding ceremonies and receptions for up to 210 guests seated. The room can be themed to suit your requirements by your choice of supplier. The kitchens are available for your use exclusively by accredited caterers.

Jewish Weddings and Barmitzvahs
ZSL London Zoo can offer you a fantastic location for your wedding ceremony and reception or Barmitzvah that will be the envy of your friends! Our suites can accommodate up to 210 guests for a Barmitzvah, and conjure up many ideas for a unique theme.

Welcome your guests with drinks in the Reptile House and wow them with dinner in the Prince Albert Suite. The outdoor terrace and lawn provide the ultimate space for fun activities for all the family. Our range of caterers can offer menus to suit your requirements or you can bring your own kosher caterers.

All  suites have dance floors providing the perfect opportunity to show off your Israeli dancing skills and accommodate a DJ.
