Aug. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- Tim Pacileo, Managing Partner of TheBoardRoomAdvisors, LLC HealthCare practice area is pleased to announce the company's focus on Social Media and Healthcare Providers.  From 2007 we saw a gradual ramp-up of YouTube to approximately 142 channels of healthcare providers, however in just the last 18 months Twitter has grown from a few hospital accounts to well over 213, and compared to Facebook, You Tube and blogging it has the predominate market share at this point in time.

The hospitals appear to obtain great value from the social networking sites and by leveraging Web 2.0 and Social Media they can increase their marketing efforts at nominal costs. As an added benefit these solution also enhance their communications with both patients and physicians. This is a win/win for both the hospitals and social media, not to mention the patients and physicians.

Our focus in this area aligns very well with our expertise in virtualization and cloud computing as we are seeing some significant changes taking place leveraging these technology solutions as well.  For example, Practice Fusion” and salesforce.com recently announced a deal that features the late-fall launch of the Practice Fusion PHR (Physicians Health Record) and EHR (Electronic Health Record), on the Force.com cloud computing development platform.
