Hawking Teddy Bears for Charity

Selling teddy bears for a great cause, the Talbot Foundation who help kids in Nepal.

July 29, 2009 - PRLog -- When times are hard, many people shut up shop and batten down the hatches.  Not so this week in Bournemouth Gardens, where the public have been giving more than generously at the Teddy Bear kiosk (Pier Approach), in aid of local charity, The Talbot Foundation.

Darren felt it only right to give an afternoon of his time to lend a hand to his favourite local charity, The Talbot Foundation (www.talbotcentre.org.uk).  With the aim of raising hundreds of pounds for street kids in Nepal, providing food, shelter and education, it was an afternoon well worth investing time in.

Darren of Pure and Simple Web Design, Bournemouth (www.pureandsimpleweb.co.uk) said “It was great to be involved raising money for this fantastic cause – the guys here all work so hard to provide these kids with a chance which most of us take for granted in the UK.  I put in a few hours, but the stall’s been open rain or shine for 3 days, so big thanks to Belinda, Phaedra and the rest for their huge efforts.”

With Tiggers and Winnie The Pooh bears up for grabs until the fireworks start on Friday night, the Talbot Foundation are hoping for a great fund-raiser.  And with assistants as charming as Belinda and Graham, I don’t think anyone could resist a 50 pence punt for a chance to win a giant Pooh bear and help a great charity to boot!
