In dealing with artists' creative services and works, consideration must be given to: The full engagement of artists in plans for use of their work. Gratis creative services and works, demonstrations, or performances should not be solicited as standard practice. All parties should mutually agree upon equitable compensation for services, works or performances. "While this resolution seems to be stating the obvious, it is a constant challenge to educate the public and organizations that seek the services of artists, that workers in the creative industry should be paid as those in any other profession," The Kentucky Arts Council is the state arts agency in the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet that creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts.
