July 11, 2009 - PRLog -- Peter creates miniature representational sculptures from a variety of media and places them inside vintage vacuum tubes (components of pre-transistor electronic appliances).
These sculptures are images reflective of everyone’s life, preserved inside a novel glass enclosure of vintage electronic glass.

Why sculptures within vacuum tubes?  First, very small sculptures represent the culmination of a decades-long search for the right vehicle to both speak for Peter and cater to his unique skills.  Peter was inspired to place his art inside vacuum tubes primarily because the tubes in their former lives were catalysts for some of the last centuries seminal inventions (i.e., radio, TV, computers), and he feels that setting his work within them energizes his work in a similar way.  Also, the tubes are aesthetically appealing on their own, so they couldn’t help but compliment his work.  “First,” he says, “I’m trying to create sculptures with lasting meaning, but they must also be visually fun.”

Peter enters the art world via a long-sought exit ramp off the tidy freeway of the corporate world.  After years of working in various sectors of the publishing industry, Peter realized that he needed to do more than just earn a paycheck.  So, with decades of modeling and sculpting skills in hand (but no formal training, he is not shy to admit), he left suburban security to make a “tiny” mark in a new industry.
