| Michael Jackson Remembered In Unique "What If" by Marshall Barnes"The Man Through The 2-Way Mirror" is a personal reflection, on growing up in a parallel life to Michael Jackson that could have saved the King of Pop - if only the two lives had intersected. The startling thing is that they almost did.
By: Jake Shisler Titled, The Man Through The 2-Way Mirror: Me and Michael Jackson, the piece begins with Marshall witnessing a little kid performing onstage to a Jackson 5 record and hearing the music for the first time and what it meant for him. From there it follows highlights from both men's lives and interesting enough, there are many parallels that seem to lead toward a potential business relationship. That Marshall has ownership of audio production techniques that he feels would have made Michael's follow-up album to Invincible a new breakthrough in music, opens the door to speculation on what might have been if Michael's problems had not begun in the wake of the disastrous Martin Bashir interview on ABC TV. Among the unique insights included are the facts that Michael’s debut on MTV was not the breaking of a racial barrier as it was a music style barrier – MTV played black artists if they played rock. The fact is that most black artists don’t, which is what kept them from the music channel prior to Michael’s entrance and transformation of the channel’s format. Others include the fact that although many make it appear that Michael made his own videos, in reality he didn’t. His input grew over time but with Billy Jean and others before, he only contributed his dancing. Marshall writes his reflections objectively, and although he is not a fan per se, it is clear that he has professional respect for the King of Pop and was concerned a number of times about the direction his life was going. As both men grow older, their common interests and ways that they could help each other, become more and more apparent until Marshall makes an attempt to contact Michael through one of his business attorneys. That attempt is halted though, in the wake of the Martin Bashir interview and the criminal charges and scandal for Michael that followed. Despite considerations about following through with an attempt at contact over the last year, the opportunity never presents itself, leaving one to only speculate about what might have been and if it would have changed what is now a tragic outcome. The piece is heavily embedded with links to documents, as well as a wide variety of music videos and rare footage of both Michael and other musicians, making it a multi-media experience that should be experienced. http://www.speakersite.com/ # # # Public Relations firm specializing in publicity, branding, advertising, public relations, and marketing.
