SCS Field Services Wins $435,000 Contract from San Bernardino County

July 6, 2009 - PRLog -- Long Beach, CA—SCS Field Services (SCS-FS), a division of SCS Engineers, will monitor and report on groundwater at the Milliken Landfill under a three-year, $435,000 contract with the San Bernardino County Waste Management Department. The term of the contract is July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2012.

The environmental engineering construction firm will provide Operation, Maintenance and Management (OM&M) services for the landfill’s Groundwater Treatment System (GWTS). The scope of work includes weekly site inspections, monthly depth-to-water measurements, quarterly influent sampling, quarterly and annual effluent sampling, evaluation of the buildup of scale within the aeration channel, maintenance of system components, and monthly and quarterly reporting.

Non-routine activities will also be performed to improve system performance and/or to address inoperable or damaged system elements, at the County’s direction.

Carl G. Cortez is the Project Director and Kenneth H. Lister, PhD, CEG, CHg, is the Project Manager. Mr. Cortez brings more than 20 years of relevant OM&M experience to this project, and he has extensive knowledge of San Bernardino County sites. Dr. Lister has 30 years of professional experience in geology and hydrogeology, including groundwater investigations at industrial facilities, landfills, and state and federal Superfund sites.
