June 29, 2009 - PRLog -- EAST GREENWICH, Rhode Island – This autumn, The Savory Grape®, a first-of-its-kind wine store in RI founded in 2006 by Jessica and Nino Granatiero, will relocate and double its size, having enjoyed exponential growth. This tops the annual industry-wide growth rate of only four percent, according to a retailer report in Wines & Vines.

The Savory Grape has developed from start-up to thriving business, serving retail and corporate customers, in-store and online. It is credited for changing the wine industry in Rhode Island with its European ambiance and focus on the customer experience amid a sea of typical industrial liquor stores where price is parity.

The shop was also first in the state to offer online ordering for out-of-state shipping, a wedding registry, and custom corporate gifts.

“Jessica and the entire staff at The Savory Grape are terrific to work with,” said a key member of The Procaccianti Group, one of the top five privately held hotel owner operators in the United States. “We have called on them over the past few years for holiday orders, special requests, and gift baskets to local and national contacts - they have done a fabulous job for us.”

The Savory Grape will move from its Main Street location to a new space in the East Greenwich Square, which includes the statewide business Dave’s Marketplace, at 1000 Division Road in East Greenwich.
With the same European charm and ambiance, yet twice the square footage, the shop will offer an even greater selection of wine, spirits and beer. The new convenient location with ample parking will provide, overall, a truly enhanced shopping experience.

Jessica Granatiero, at age 34, established The Savory Grape in what could be considered a male dominated industry. She is said to provide a unique woman’s perspective as a wine seller - one of sensitivity, spirit, and a concentration on the customer.

“Our loyal clients, the number of which continues to grow, have inspired us to expand our business,” said Jessica Granatiero, co- owner of The Savory Grape.  “Of course, we’ll maintain our comfortable ‘personal wine cellar’ atmosphere, the customer-friendly inventory and our outstanding level of service, as validated by our customers’ comments.”

“The Savory Grape has been an integral part of the Rhode Island community since its inception,” said Jerry Meyer, executive director of the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce. “This shop’s ability to expand to offer a higher level shopping experience to its clients, particularly in this challenging economy, is testament to its success,” he said.

“Our new location will enable us to better serve our existing customers while attracting new ones,” said Granatiero. “Between The Savory Grape and neighboring Dave’s Marketplace, it is ‘one-stop shopping’ convenience at its best.”
