June 23, 2009 - PRLog -- All the World’s a Stage and we need Stage Hands!  We would like YOU to be a part of the Surflight Family.  Do you appreciate live theatre?  Do you enjoy meeting new people and trying new things?  If so, give the gift of your time and volunteer.  Surflight Theatre is always on the lookout for friendly people interested in the arts and we have many volunteer positions available.  From Ushers to raffle ticket sales; box office to business office; work shop to costume shop.  One of the most important roles at Surflight is that of Volunteer.  

The Joseph P. Hayes Surflight Theatre, in operation since 1950, is a seasonal, self-producing, not for profit, professional live theatre dedicated to providing the residents and vacationers of Long Beach Island, Ocean County and other nearby communities with first quality live musical theatre and plays.  This season's productions include: Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, Buddy...The Buddy Holly Story, 1940's Radio Hour, Tell Me on Sunday, The Odd Couple, Ebenezer.  With concerts by: The Kingston Trio, Walt Willey, Tommy Emmanuel....

One of the most important roles at Surflight is that of Volunteer! Each year volunteers contribute hundreds of hours to making this professional theatre work.  Volunteers bring expertise, energy and an important community connection to every job and simply stretch what our staff and artists do. Becoming a volunteer may also be able to satisfy  many community service program requirements.  Volunteers are respected and appreciated.  If you have a few hours or many, occasional time or regular, particular skills or desire to learn something new – call us, We’ll match your interests with our needs.

Whilst Volunteer positions are not paid, there may be perks to giving your time to the theatre, such as seeing a professional show for free!  so give us a call...

The only professional theatre in ocean County, Surflight has been producing "Broadway at the Beach" since 1950. Full scale productions of musicals and plays run from April through December.
