Coral Ridge Ministries Supports Effort to Expose Obama’s Radical Homosexual Agenda



Fort Lauderdale, FL (June 17, 2009)—A news conference is being held today in Chicago to call attention to the unprecedented and underreported homosexual political agenda coming out of the White House.



“Americans need to know about this full-throated attack by the Obama Administration and its congressional allies on the moral and social order, from marriage to the military to the nation’s schools,” said Robert Knight, Senior Writer and Washington, D.C., Correspondent for Coral Ridge Ministries.



“Coral Ridge Ministries is proud to voice support of this important press conference organized by Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH),” Knight said. “The media have been utterly irresponsible by ignoring these crucial issues or presenting only one side – the pro-homosexual view.”  



Knight, the author of the new book  Fighting for America’s Soul (Coral Ridge, 2009), said, “If this agenda triumphs, it will not usher in an era of tolerance, but rather the kind of repression and intolerance toward Christians and other traditionalists that we have seen in Europe and Canada. The eventual outcome would be the criminalization of Christianity.”



The agenda includes a hate crime bill with “sexual orientation” and “gender identity”; radical appointees such as Catholic-basher and gay activist Harry Knox to the White House faith commission, and Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network founder Kevin Jennings at the Department of Education; lifting the ban on open homosexuality in the military; overturning the Defense of Marriage Act; enacting the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (a gay and transgender jobs quota bill), and using the bully pulpit to utterly distort the Bible’s teachings on homosexuality.



The press conference will be held at 29 South LaSalle Street, Suite 610, Chicago, IL, on Wednesday, June 17, at 11 a.m., hosted by AFTAH’s Peter LaBarbera and featuring several other speakers from pro-family organizations.



“Coral Ridge Ministries urges the media to stop functioning as giddy cheerleaders for the gay agenda,” Knight said, “and stop portraying as ‘haters’ those people who believe that God created marriage as the union of one man and one woman.



“The American Psychological Association recently changed its position on homosexuality, saying science has not proved that people are ‘born gay’ and can’t change.  People tempted by homosexuality deserve to know that God loves them as much as He does all of us sinners, and that encouraging people, especially teens, to cultivate unhealthy desires is not an exercise in compassion, but precisely its opposite.”
