Cost Containment and Audit are Spotlighted During Tough Economy

Colleen Cunningham and Jon Wesoky of Resources Global Professionals will lead interactive discussions on cost containment and the state of audit at the Maryland Business Expo (MD Biz Expo) on June 16 and 17 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
 
June 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Ms. Cunningham will participate on a panel presentation discussing “The State of Auditing—Auditing the State” on June 16. Mr. Wesoky will give a presentation on cost containment on June 17. This session will focus on how to identify cost containment, cost reduction, and cost avoidance opportunities and how to prioritize and approach these tactical and strategic initiatives.

Colleen Cunningham is an internationally recognized expert on corporate financial reporting and accounting, as well as former advisor to the FASB and the IASB. She served as chief executive officer of Financial Executives International (FEI) for nearly four years, during which time she had significant influence in legislative and regulatory matters including Sarbanes-Oxley, pension reform and financial accounting standards.  Ms. Cunningham currently leads Resources’ Accounting and Finance practice which provides financial reporting expertise to Fortune 1000 companies. She speaks and writes frequently on financial reporting issues.

Jon Wesoky is the regional director of Resources’ Supply Chain Management practice, where he supports clients on scoping and provides teams to execute on strategic and operational initiatives in the Procure-to-Pay, inventory management, and logistics and transportation functions.  Prior to joining Resources, Mr. Wesoky was a director at BearingPoint in the firm’s Communications Industry group, and a senior manager at Andersen Business Consulting. He received his M.B.A with an emphasis in Logistics and Transportation from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management from Case Western Reserve University.  Mr. Wesoky is a Certified Integrated Resource Manager (CIRM) and is a member of the National Capital Area chapter of the Institute for Supply Management.
