-- Dr. Stephen A. Chidyllo, who is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center believes in the philosophy that "Less Is More" when it comes to facial rejuvenation and Cosmetic Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Chidyllo believes that Cosmetic Facial Surgery should be performed in a graduated fashion over a lifetime, starting at approximately age 35. By performing smaller cosmetic surgical procedures, the recovery time is less and the face ages gracefully. Dr. Stephen A. Chidyllo is a Board Certified New Jersey Plastic Surgeon and a member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He contributes a significant portion of his practice to performing cosmetic facial surgical procedures such as; Facelifts, Necklifts, and Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery. Dr. Stephen A. Chidyllo has been in practice in Monmouth County New Jersey for over 16 years. He is considered one of the prominent plastic surgeons in the region when considering Facelift (Rhytidectomy)
Surgery. Dr. Chidyllo believes that when contemplating a Facelift, it should be considered earlier in life rather than latter. By performing a Facelift earlier in life, when the face starts to show signs of aging, allow the patient to augment and "keep up" with the aging process. Dr. Chidyllo believes that the first facelift should be considered between the ages of 45-50. This will allow the face to appear rejuvenated, rested and not aged. Dr. Chidyllo's standard regime for facial rejuvenation is as follows, and it is basically the same for both women and men. As one begins to age into their late 30's and early 40's the upper eyelids and periorbital region are usually the first anatomical regions to show the signs of aging. By utilizing either Reloxin (Dysport), BOTOX Cosmetic along with dermal fillers such as, Restylane, JuVederm, Perlane or Radiesse can help to hide and erase the fine lines and wrinkles. Commonly the first cosmetic facial surgery performed is a cosmetic upper eyelid lift or Blepharloplasty. As one ages into the mid 40's and early 50's one should consider having a Mid-Facelift performed. This surgical procedure tightens the regions about the cheeks and jowls. A revision or secondary Facelift, along with a Necklift (platysmaplasty)
should be considered as one ages into the late 50's to early 60's. A Necklift commonly treats the loose skin of the neck region (Turkey Neck). Dr. Stephen Chidyllos philosophy of "Less is More", by performing both surgical as well as non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures allows the facial region and person to age gracefully without being overwhelmed by the signs of aging.
