June 8, 2009 - PRLog -- A Bristol public relations agency is riding a wave of success after landing two sea-faring projects, in keeping with the city’s maritime heritage.

Empica – formerly Martin Powell Communications – has added two separate sea cruise projects to its list of clients.

The Long Ashton based agency is acting for Miles Morgan Travel to market a cruise to commemorate the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic in 2012, and has secured coverage in 104 countries.

Empica has also been brought in by the operators of the mega-yacht, Harmony II, which has made its home port in Bristol Harbour, and is now providing private cruises on the west coast as well as being a new floating event venue in Bristol.

Empica’s managing director Martin Powell said: “The trip to commemorate the Titanic disaster will see a cruise liner with 1,300 passengers aboard sail to the spot where she sank, 100 years to the minute after the historic event.

“Our story has undoubtedly gripped the public’s imagination. It has made headlines in news media of all kinds all over the world so far and the interest is growing with each week.”

The news of the Titanic Memorial Cruise made headlines in countries as diverse as the USA, Norway and Romania and in all the various media platforms.

Said Mr Powell: “The mega-yacht Harmony II is a major new edition to Bristol’s historic harbour. We have organised events on board to show her off to event organisers in Bristol and the reception she had was brilliant. We’re currently promoting her golf cruise schedule.”

Empica is no stranger to the sea. Last year’s biggest account win saw the agency take on publicity work for the Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare

Former journalist Martin Powell has been carrying out publicity in the South West for more than 20 years.

Empica, with its head office in Long Ashton, Bristol, and a satellite office in London, was renamed last year to reflect the publicity needs of businesses as they deal with the changing media world in the 21st century.
