Located in the heart of historic Beach Haven, next to Surflight Theatre, Show Place has been delighting customers since 1975 with its Show Biz menu.  All the servers (known as ‘waitri’) are professional entertainers, they jump at any opportunity to put on a show, or a silly hat.  They also have a tendency to stand on the furniture, sit in customers laps, and burst into song!

Just try asking them ’What kind of ice cream do you have?’  Someone will immediately throw the question right back at you: ‘What kind of ice cream do we have?’ Then within moments the entire waitstaff will begin singing about the menu: ‘We have butter pecan, chocolate chip mint, peanut butter, peanut butter, peanut butter, orange sorbet, raspberry sorbet….”

Customer participation is a big part of the show.  Order a ‘Wizard of Oz’ –a rainbow of sprinkles, over mint choc chip ice cream, hot fudge, banana, walnuts, cookies and whipped cream – and you could be asked to skip down the Yellow Brick Road.  A ‘My Fair Lady’ or ‘Gypsy Rose Lee’ could inspire its own song or dance to match! At least one person at every table is usually asked to sing, dance, or do something crazy for his or her dessert, and after the serving is done all are treated to a tuneful cabaret show featuring our "Waitri."

Showplace is open on weekends now to June 12th, then daily until Labor Day, 6pm until late. Show lengths depend upon the size of the audience, but are generally up to an hour long.  For more info call 609-492-0018
