May 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Brooke Lipton is originally from Phoenix, AZ which is a stones throw away from Los Angeles.  She started going to LA when she was 12 to take classes and soon it wasn't just summer vacation but spring break and fall break as well.  She has done two world tours with Britney Spears that have occupied about four years and given her amazing experiences.

In her dancer interview, Brooke talks about coming from a competitive atmosphere that pushes you to strive to do the best. As she says, everybody likes to walk away with a first prize.  The studio she trained at wasn't filled with perfect dancers, which made it real, and they came with a competitive edge.  This edge certainly helped her when it came to becoming a professional dancer.  She was always used to dancing and striving to be her best, so auditioning was a little more pressure but she was used to it.

Coming to Los Angeles was not the easiest transition for Brooke Lipton.  She spent the first year in Los Angeles without hiring an agent or agency, and when she finally did it took three years before she got her first gig.  Now Brooke says a lot of this had to do with her image, body and hair.  She says you have to do more than just your damage, your image is so important.  Going out in a leotard and in a pony tail won't work.  She encourages the online dance community to continue to work hard on their dance but be aware of their image if they want to make it as a professional dancer.

Though it is a lot of hard work it does pay off.  Touring with Britney was an amazing experience but she reminds everyone it wasn't a huge glamor show.  Despite getting to tour the world, dancers work hours a day to stay in shape and then have the show to perform on top of that.  For example, when it rains on stage the dancers are in five layers of costume changes getting soaked and weighed down.  Then by the time the tour gets going the dancers are already tired enough not to want to party every night.

Her advice to people moving to LA is that dancing is a full time job and if you have to work on top of it, have a family, you need to keep dancing as a full time job as well to make it in the dancing world. It is important to keep working and striving to do what you love or quickly family, school, or other work will get in the way.  If you don't love dance it is impossible to make it in the dancing world.  Stick with classes like an online dance class, stay in shape, and eat healthy at all times.
