Choreographer Malaya Gives New Dancers Career Advice on JigTV

May 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Malaya is a master choreographer who comes from a lyrical background.  She constructs a class that is designed to train a dancer body and heart.  Her choreography is in such high demand that aside from her school in LA, she travels to Tokyo, Seoul, Zurich, New Zealand, and Italy.  Her choreography has been used by a number of dance companies as well as by University of Oklahoma.  She has also done performances with Celine Dion and Prince.

In her dancer interview, Malaya tells JigTV that she always knew she was going to be a teacher.  From her time in Denver helping other students get their steps down, to moving to LA to pursue a career in Dance, it was apparent she would teach.  

She urges the online dance community to love what they do and do it with passion.  When you love to dance you make time for class and always find time to better your trade.  Malaya reminds that to be a dancer, you are a product and you have to have personality and enthusiasm.  As someone who picks out dancers, she knows that if you dance perfectly but don't have energy, then you won't be cast.  

Malaya says her favorite perks of being a dancer are all the wonderful places you can travel and all the wonderful people that you meet.
