FOR-A to Introduce HVS-300HS Multi-Format Switcher at InfoComm 09

Also Showcasing New FVW-500HS Video Writer and MV-1610HS Multi-Viewer

May 26, 2009 - PRLog -- CYPRESS, CA – FOR-A will showcase several new products, including the HVS-300HS HD/SD 1 M/E switcher, at InfoComm 09 in Orlando, Fla., June 17-19 (Booth #4985). First introduced to the U.S. market at the 2009 NAB Show, the HVS-300HS features a compact 1RU main unit, making it an ideal solution for use in mobile or small production facilities.

It is available with a traditional operation panel or a mini panel for control, plus PC software GUI and aux remote control. The standard HVS-300HS includes four inputs and outputs, but can be expanded to accept up to 12 inputs and eight outputs with a variety of I/O options.

Other features of the HVS-300HS include a built-in 16-split multi-viewer, two channels of picture-in-picture, two channels of still stores, various 2D and 3D DVE transitions, and a frame synchronizer and re-sizing engine for each input that eliminates timing issues involved with mixed signal installations. The unit features a 10-bit processor and supports 1080i, 720p, NTSC, and PAL.

“Considering the growing number of pro A/V applications turning increasingly to HD, much like traditional broadcast, the HVS-300 is an ideal switcher for the A/V market,” said Hiro Tanoue, President of FOR-A Corporation of America. “The unit is compact yet robust, with high quality features offering performance and versatility at a very reasonable cost.”

Also on display, the FVW-500HS HD/SD Video Writer (formerly named the MBP-100VW) is effective for illustrating sport color commentary, but is also ideal for educational and medical applications, as well as corporate events. The telestrator has pre-programmed graphic shapes for ease of use, but can also process straight line and freehand drawings through its touch-screen interface. The FVW-500HS creates an array of lines that vary in color, edge width and thickness. Drawn objects can be moved, copied or deleted as needed during demonstrations.

The MV-1610HS HD/SD Multi Display Processor is designed to support facilities that need to display a variety of video formats and frame rates simultaneously, with support for HD-SDI, SD-SDI and analog composite signals. Optional digital or analog RGB computer inputs are also available. A DVI output supports up to WUXGA (1900x1200) resolution and is well-suited for displays on large-sized screens. The multi viewer includes a software-based layout editor, so users can change size and position for all 16 inputs. Other features include title/tally display for each source, plus audio level and clock display.
