The EBITDA for the year showed an increase of 27% from the last year to Rs 112.79 crore. The company has reported Net Sales of Rs.177 crores for the quarter ended 31st March 2009, 13.44 % higher than the same period in last quarter. The EBIT for the quarter stood at Rs. 32 crore as against last year’s Rs.17 crore recording a 95 % increase. EBITDA has grown to Rs 40 crores in Q4 FY'2009 from Rs 24 crore in Q4 FY'2008. EPS stood at Rs 7.30 per share for the year ended 31 March, 2009. Mr. Sandip Somany, Joint Managing Director, HSIL Limited said, “The challenges in the market are expected to continue for some time, still the company would continue to grow on account of improvement in plant efficiencies and realization, richer product mix and cost cutting initiatives. The company is fully geared to meet existing market challenges with its well-timed capacity increase and efficiency improvement projects” HSIL Limited manufactures Sanitaryware under three umbrella brands –Hindware, Hindware Art and Hindware Italian collection to cater to all the segments of society with wide range of prices. To serve the niche segment of society HSIL Limited does exclusive marketing of internationally acclaimed brands Keramag and Teuco. HSIL Limited is the second largest manufacturer in the container glass sector with its plant in Hyderabad. The glass division, AGI Glass Pac contributes Rs. 331crores to the company’s total revenue, while the ceramic division, including the bath fittings and wellness segments, contributes Rs 338 crores. To further spread the horizon, HSIL Limited is looking at overseas acquisitions and has earmarked Rs. 250 crore in the current fiscal for the purpose. The company is also planning to expand its portfolio by introducing 125 new products. The company has also earmarked Rs. 300 crore for the retail expansion. HSIL Limited (Formerly Hindustan Sanitaryware & Industries Limited) is the largest Indian manufacturer of Sanitaryware products, with a dominant market share of 40% in the industry.
