May 5, 2009 - PRLog -- To promote American pride and community pride local businesses, schools, organizations, and citizens are invited to come out and participate in the parade and Float Competition. This will be a friendly competition and a great way to promote our communities patriotic spirit. Gather up a team and help show the community that you, your school, business, or organization is a pillar of the community.

Who will have the best float? This year’s parade theme is Celebrate Your America! All floats should illustrate how you celebrate America. The winners will be announced at Hunter Park around 1:30 p.m. Judging is based on four categories including:  originality, presentation, design, and theme interpretation with theme interpretation having the most weight.  The parade begins downtown at 10:00 a.m. on Church Street and continues to Hunter Park. To register for the Douglasville Fourth of July Parade or to participate in the Float Competition, please contact Alice Stephens at 678-715-2039 or stephensa@ci.dougalsville.ga.us.
