Follow on Google News | Open & Trade Day At Leading Bristol AcademyS&B Automotive Academy in Bristol UK are to host a Motor Industry Event on 28th May 2009
By: Empica Taking place at S&B Automotive Academy on Princess Street, Bristol on 28 May, the trade open day will provide the perfect opportunity for technicians to see for themselves the latest developments in the motor industry. Organised by The Trade Group the event will showcase ‘GARAGEXPO’ It will be hosted by Hex Holdings, senior members of The Trade Group and garage equipment suppliers from across the Southwest. Visitors will be able to discuss their equipment requirements, ask for advice and generally ‘pick the brains’ of some of the foremost and most experienced garage equipment specialists in the country. A series of short presentations on what’s new and what to look for when selecting garage equipment will also take place at various times during the day. For those interested in motorbike racing, racer Jamie Wilkins will be attending along with his Aprillia Tunon 1000cc motorbike. The day is also an opportunity for the academy to showcase the various training and vocational courses it now offers which are required by the automotive industry. On display will be a MAN British Army truck and the Academy’s high tech computer based interactive training systems along with the many displays that are taking place in its training workshops. Jon Winter, chief executive of S&B Automotive Academy said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming garage owners and technicians from all over the greater Bristol area. This open and trade day is a great way to see first hand the very latest tools and diagnostic equipment specifically for the motor industry. “In addition we’re looking forward to showing future apprentices the facilities here at the academy which provides those who attend with vital qualifications that will help them have a career in the motor industry.” There will be a barbecue and raffle, with all proceeds going to cancer research. The academy currently trains over 600 students a year with courses ranging from pre-apprenticeships, through apprenticeships for those working in the motor industry, management training and other short courses. The open day is taking place on Thursday 28 May from 12 noon to 9.00pm.
