Expanding Material Handling Market for Summit Systems

The customer wished to automate a sophisticated process; involving substantial throughputs of up to 2 tonnes/hour, that had previously relied upon a large amount of manual handling and forklift activity.
Summit Systems supplied the equipment and projected managed the installation of a vacuum conveying system which carries the product from process to process. An automatic selection system was also specified to allow the customer to vary the process as required.
Summit’s Fabrication division manufactured bespoke Big Bag Stands and Collection Bins for the system. They also provided in excess of 1000 m of  pipe work and bends which were required for this project.

A spokesman for the customer said  “Summit Systems have provided us with three product vacuum transportation systems. Each turnkey system was designed, delivered, installed and commissioned by Summit’s small professional team of engineer’s weeks ahead of our scheduled campaign window.
We are currently in phase two of our factory upgrade and will have no hesitation in awarding Summit Systems a contract to complete our programme.”
