Follow on Google News | San Diego Tea Party Joins National “Tax Day Tea Party” MovementThe San Diego Tea Party is pleased to announce that it will join forces with more than 400 cities in 50 states, in the nationwide Tax Day Tea Party on April 15, 2009.
Among its activities, the local group conducts a book study club based on the book, ‘The 5000 Year Leap’, by W. Cleon Skousen, and published by the National Center for Constitutional Studies. The group joins the national Tea Party movement in spreading awareness of the threat to the individual and unalienable rights of citizens as clearly spelled out in the Founding Documents. The group believes that the individual study of “Natural Law” outlined in the book, as set forth by the Founding Fathers, is the key to citizens understanding their unalienable rights as declared in the U.S. Constitution. The group states that our Founding Fathers proclaimed that a responsible citizenry must continually strive to renew its study and awareness of our American founding and heritage in order to preserve our rights under the Constitution. The Boston Tea Party was an act of direct protest by American colonists demanding representation in the British Parliament. They became known as the original patriots. The San Diego Tea Party of 2009 and Tea Parties all across America seek to reinvigorate that American and patriotic spirit, one that demands respect for individual rights and property. The San Diego Tea Party was founded on February 22, 2009 and has been recently featured on the Roger Hedgecock radio program on KOGO AM 600. The national movement has received widespread media exposure including nationwide local television news to nationally syndicated talk show radio programs.
