Adhesive Bandage Peeling Testing Methods and Applications

April 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Peeling strength of adhesive bandage is of crucial importance.
According to pharmacopoeia, 180 degree peeling strength testing is adopted. Take Labthink BLD-200S Peeling Strength Tester or XLW Auto Tensile Tester as example.
Stick the back side of the adhesive bandages on the testing panel with double-side adhesive tape. Strengthen with adhesive tape so that sample can be even on testing panel. Place clean polymer film on adhesive side of the sample, and roll three rounds with 2000g roller on the sample to avoid bubbles. Lay the sample aside for 20 to 40 minutes before test.  
Bend the polymer film and clamp the free end of the film and testing panel on the tester. Peeling side must be in linear direction with the tester. Set testing speed at 300mm/min±10mm/min and start. The results of peeling strength are with the units of KN/m or N/mm.
