By: Sharon Thomas Hollywood Actors Workshop & Symposium is slated for Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, 2009 at AIU Dunwoody, 6600 Peachtree-Dunwoody, Atlanta. This one-of-a-kind symposium is a perfect opportunity for aspiring actors to explore their potential and for working actors to hone their skills. Attendees can network, learn, and showcase their talents with some of the world’s top professionals in the business including Heather Bivens, Tyler Perry’s Extras Casting Director, (currently casting for the next feature film “I Can Do Bad All By Myself”); Hollywood Casting Director Peter Wise; Jayme Pervis of J.Pervis Talent Agency and Brenda Pauly of the People Store. Guest speakers and instructors assembled for this two-day weekend include the best industry leaders in the business such as television’s most respected writerproducer, Ed Weinberger. Weinberger co-wrote the Emmy Award Winning television series The Cosby Show. Weinberger has also written for The Dean Martin Show, Bob Hope and Mary Tyler Moore Show. Weinberger's later production credits include the successful series Amen, as well as the critically acclaimed sitcom Dear John, Good News and Sparks. Joining the panel will be Allen Payne of House of Payne, Tatyana Ali from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Miguel A. Nunez Jr. known for his starring role as Juwanna Mann and starring alongside Matt LeBlanc in NBC’s JOEY, and Lil JJ from Nickelodeon’ Jordan. Event organizer Sharon Thomas said, “The mission of Blueprint 4 Hollywood is to work with top industry professionals to bring our local actors guidance, training, and the necessary relationships to succeed as working actors.” Thomas said the symposium features a series of workshops on a wide range of topics, including Auditioning Techniques, Improvisation, Scene Study, Cold-Reading, and Targeting Agents.
