In American pool the balls come in two suits, these include seven solid balls and seven balls with stripes the 8 ball and a cue ball.  A blackball set is close to that of an American set, but in it there are unmarked red, blue or yellow balls.  Not only that but the blackball balls are smaller.  Snooker balls are smaller than those of American style, and there are 22 balls.
Materials that are used for balls range from clay, Bakelite, celluloid, crystallite, ivory, plastic, steel and wood.
