The Easter Bunny Is Alive & Well... And Living In Las Vegas!

March 28, 2009 - PRLog -- For 19 years, E BUNNY has delivered goodies to the poorest children in the cities where she’s lived and worked. That’s right, the Easter Bunny is a girl... a nice Jewish girl. And she’s getting  2009 baskets ready to go, right now.

“We get requests from shelters, and child welfare organizations every year," says E Bunny coordinator/founder Barbara Kenig, who delivers hundreds of baskets every Easter.  "We specifically look for groups and organizations that aren’t sponsored by large charities or outreach programs; we look for those who otherwise wouldn’t have Easter baskets for the kids."

Since 1990, E BUNNY — a volunteer run outreach program — has delivered thousands of baskets to children in need. "It's a huge, grassroots effort, from individuals, to companies, to schools & churches. Lance Burton did a special PSA for us, and local businesses and individuals had their own basket drives.  It just makes you feel good!" Kenig added.  "Last year, more than 1300 baskets were delivered to kids throughout the Valley."  

In her other life, Kenig runs In The Public Eye, an outcome-driven PR and media relations firm in Las Vegas. E BUNNY and her husband, V21C President Howard Kenig, are members of Temple Beth Sholom in Summerlin, where Barbara served on the Board of Directors from 2003-2006.

"In Jewish, it's called tzedakah... giving to help someone in need," she explains.  “Easter signifies hope and renewal, and it’s the perfect time to connect with children who have so little...  we give them a reason to smile!”
