By: Karon Kate Blackwell
Among those joining her will be two of the best known, most loved entertainers in town, George Bugatti and Bill Fayne, accompanied by a group of amazing musicians.
Karon Kate performed with Marty for 34 years, by the comedian's side as a duo. "I feel that Marty will still be with me, encouraging me to continue, doing the thing he loved most… performing."
A vocalist, musician and song writer from Mississippi, Karon Kate made her way to Vegas, singing every chance she got. Her style glides effortlessly from country, to R&B, to gospel and American standards… the sort of compelling talent that made Vegas shows famous, before arena events and GaGa productions. As a pianist, she can pound rock 'n roll like Jerry Lee Lewis, or take an old tune and make it modern. Many of her songs are her own compositions, material she developed opening for top shows like Wayne Newton.
Blackwell's career began in nightclubs and showrooms across the country, before appearing on the Tonight Show and with Regis Philbin. Additionally, Karon Kate was the original 'Wet and Wild Girl' for 7UP commercials;
George Bugatti is a musician, singer and songwriter, discovered performing in Beverly Hills by Steve Allen. Shortly after a first CD with Allen, Bugatti made his concert debut in LA with the legendary Tony Bennett.
Bill Fayne is an award winning musical director, known for musical theater, operas and television shows around the world. Fayne appeared as guest conductor with the Las Vegas, Atlanta, Buffalo, San Diego, Columbus, and Delaware Symphony Orchestras.
Karon Kate, George and Bill are also well regarded for touring venues across America performing the music of Harold Arlen and the Great American Songbook.
